HEAL is a nonprofit working to make health knowledge accessible to everyone — so individuals, families, and communities can take ownership of their healing journey with confidence, clarity, and dignity.
HEAL exists to make empowering health knowledge accessible to everyone — through education that meets people where they are, advocacy that gives them a voice, and leadership development that builds capacity in the communities most often left out of the conversation.
We translate complex health information into knowledge people can use — across integrative, alternative, and conventional approaches — so they can make informed choices about their own care.
We work alongside individuals and communities as they navigate a fragmented healthcare system, ensuring no one walks that path alone or uninformed.
We invest in leadership capacity within underserved and diverse populations, because the people closest to a community's needs are best positioned to lead its healing.
We hold that health and healing are foundational to the well-being of both individuals and communities — and that real wellness encompasses physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance. When people are equipped with the right information, tools, and support, they take ownership of their healing journey. That ownership strengthens families. Strong families strengthen communities. And the result is resilience, dignity, and a collective sense of wholeness.
Access to clear, unbiased knowledge about health options, services, and pathways is essential for meaningful, lasting recovery. We believe people deserve the full picture, not just a prescription.
We honor conventional medicine, integrative practice, and alternative approaches alike. Healing is personal, and the right path is the one informed by knowledge and chosen by the person walking it.
Personal healing doesn't end with the individual. When one person reclaims their health, families grow stronger and communities grow more resilient. We design for that ripple effect.
HEAL's mission expresses itself through programs designed to meet specific communities where they are. Our first program is built for one of the groups most in need of renewal — the nurses and healthcare professionals who carry the weight of our care systems.
A leadership and renewal program for nurses and healthcare professionals.
Developed by Mary Lacyk, RN, IGNITE Soul Power is a transformational, evidence-informed program designed to restore purpose, resilience, and compassionate engagement among healthcare professionals. Rooted in over 50 years of clinical and leadership experience, it addresses the emotional, psychological, and spiritual fatigue carried by today's nursing workforce.
Through a structured six-pillar framework, IGNITE empowers nurses and leaders to reconnect with their calling, elevate patient care, and strengthen the cultures they work within.

Mary Lacyk, RN brings more than 50 years of clinical and leadership experience to the work of HEAL. Her career has spanned bedside nursing, healthcare leadership, patient advocacy, and case management — and her vision for HEAL grew directly out of what she's witnessed across that span.
Mary is also the author of Vows to Vision, a memoir and practical guide tracing the birth of health advocacy and case management through her own remarkable journey — from convent to healthcare pioneer.
